The Kingdom of Heaven has come upon us and broken into this present darkness in the person of Jesus, the Son of God. Hear the Lord of the Kingdom call, “Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand…” This repentance is supposed to be powerful and dynamic, continuous and genuine, because it is the cause of the utter transformation of the person before God. This is not a mere half-hearted confession, one and done kind of repentance. NO! This is a repentance that is brought upon the world because of the presence of Jesus the Christ, the in-breaking of the Kingdom of Heaven in such a way that the only right response to this in-breaking is to repent and be transformed utterly and completely. With the Kingdom at hand…this does indeed mean that the Judgement of God is also at hand…it is close…this makes repentance an even more imperative element in our relationship with God. How can you ever believe that a one time confession of your true self before God, a wicked sinner, is sufficient transformation to be ready for the day of Judgement??? That is as wise as looking at an engine that has been broken down, and stating “it looks broken”, then believing it to be ready to win the Daytona 500! Absurd and Mislead believer. You are to run the race in such a way as to win…or is the Apostle Paul mistaken to command this of us? No! We are called to a life of repentance, and continual and daily taking up of the cross. We are called to be “perfect as our heavenly father is perfect”. Jesus wouldn’t command this of us if it were not possible…this is also why Jesus said it was better for Him to go, and send us the Holy Spirit, who testifies to the truth, convicts all of sin, and gives us a knowledge of judgement. Thanks be to God Almighty for the presence and working of the Holy Spirit, causing us to know our sins, making us conscience of the judgement of God, urging us to repent of these sins, and pouring out the grace of God in our lives to continually transform us into the “image of Christ”. Believing that your “one time confession” is a sufficient deed for salvation is a clear rejection of the Holy Spirit’s purpose and presence in your life as a believer. Don’t be so foolish to believe this, it is not the Gospel of God, but the gospel of man…allow the Holy Spirit to be who He was sent to be in your life….God! Jesus is in heaven interceding on our behalf….it is the Holy Spirit who has been sent here to us…so why then do we leave the person of God who is present here with us until Christ’s Second Coming out of the equation? Let me leave you with the words of the Lord Jesus Christ himself, “He who endures until the end, shall be saved”…
